AUM Building Science and Engineering Ltd.’s management team is fronted by Conrad V. Desrosiers, P. Eng., BEP, RRO, FEC and Hari Korpal, P. Eng., BEP.
Two of AUM Building Science & Engineering Ltd.’s professional engineers completed all five modules of the AIBC sponsored Building Envelope Program and comply with the requirements for Building Envelope Professional. The two individuals are Conrad Desrosiers, P.Eng., and Hari Korpal, P.Eng. Various staff members have also completed numerous envelope related courses as part of their continuing professional development. AUM personnel are PAQ & S certified in compliance with Soprema’s requirements. AUM personnel are also RCABC certified with the corporate listing pending immediately. Personnel have also achieved various other designations not listed herein.

Team


Hari Korpal, P. Eng., B. Eng, BEP   Hari Korpal completed his bachelor of engineering degree (B. Eng.) degree with distinction in 1996. He also successfully completed the Building Envelope Education Program offered by the Architectural Institute of BC in year 2006-2007, which includes successful completion of all five (5) modules and passing of an exam to meet the requirements of a building envelope professional (BEP). He is currently a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC) and British Columbia Building Envelope Council (BCBEC).

Mr. Korpal, is a professional engineer with over 15 years of continuous consulting experience in the field of building science engineering for: low rise and high-rise buildings, new construction and restoration projects, building envelope investigations, design and overseeing of remedial work. He is proud to have been a part of the team (as a building envelope consultant) for the construction of new hospital facilities such as ACC- Kelowna General Hospital, UBC Parkade Building and the Clinical Support Buildings in Kelowna and the Vernon Jubilee Hospital in Vernon.

He has acted as a building envelope consultant on over 90 building enclosure rehabilitations, performing field reviews and construction contract administration while working with other firms. In addition to assessment and rehabilitation of existing building enclosures, He has also acted as a building enclosure consultant on numerous (over 100) new construction projects, ranging from single family dwellings, townhouses and apartment buildings, to large scale commercial and institutional projects. Services provided by him on the new construction projects included the review of architectural drawings and specifications for building envelope issues, the review of the building envelope details during construction, and the review of building science related shop drawings.

Conrad Desrosiers, P. Eng. BEP, RRO, FEC, HCRI-R, HCRI-C


Conrad Desrosiers completed engineer’s degree in 1979 from University of Saskatchewan. He also successfully completed the Building Envelope Education Program offered by the Architectural Institute of BC, which includes successful completion of all five (5) modules and passing of an exam to meet the requirements of a building envelope professional (BEP).

Mr. Desrosiers is a Registered Roofing Observer (RRO) with RCABC and RCI. He is also a Haag Certified Roofing Inspector - (HCRI –R (residential) and HCRI –C (commercial). Mr. Desrosiers is currently a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC), British Columbia Building Envelope Council (BCBEC), Roof Consultant Institute (RCI) and Roofing Contractors Association of BC.

Mr. Desrosiers has been involved in the restoration, protection and waterproofing of structures since 1985. Conrad was a founding member of the Association of Professional Engineer’s Building Envelope Task Force, was a former elected APEGBC council member, and was an active Director of the Roofing Consultants Institute of Western Canada. Conrad oversees a team of professional technical personnel experienced in the review, analysis and remediation of problems related to envelope and structural degradation.

Joseph Shannon, AScT


Joseph Shannon completed diploma in building technology (architecture) in 1985 from BCIT. He also successfully completed various architectural, roofing and building envelope related courses.

Mr. Shannon is currently registered as AScT., with Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC).

Mr. Shannon has over 30 years of experience in architectural design and drafting (single family dwellings, multi-family dwellings and institutional buildings). He has over 15 years of experience in the building envelope field for both restoration and new construction projects. He is responsible to prepare the specifications, details and drawings for roofing and building envelope projects and he also performs the related field reviews. He is very well familiar with BCBC, VBBL, and other codes & regulations.
